Steve Stombaugh grew up in northwest Indiana, slowly working his way southward to Plainfield. He learned to fly in high school, attended Purdue University, and has had a 40-plus year career in aviation. A year-long project, creating a state aviation department under Governor Daniels, included work with the Indiana State Police Aviation Section, and insight into the valuable work police officers do on the public’s behalf. He currently works as an Aviation Safety Inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Steve and his wife, Deb, have two grown daughters. Steve has long served in church leadership, has served on the boards of Hope Healthcare, Kingsway Christian School, graduated from the Plainfield Citizens Academy and currently serves on the board of the Plainfield Municipal Improvement Corporation.
