Jerry was appointed January 1, 2018 to the Plainfield Board of Police Commissioners. He was born in Indianapolis and graduated from Decatur Central High School. He served in the Decatur Township Fire Department as a Master Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician, Lieutenant, and Captain. He also held the office of Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
For a short time, he was a Reserve Officer for the Plainfield Police Department and attended classes at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. His post-secondary education includes the Lincoln Institute of Technology and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) where he took classes in business administration and computer technology. He was employed by and became owner of Oak-Rite Manufacturing Corporation for 45 years.
Jerry has been a member of the Board of Directors and past member of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce. He served eight years on the Madison Township Advisory Board in Morgan County. Jerry and his wife Diane moved to Plainfield in 2006. They have 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren.
