Biography
Joy Philip is originally from Highland, Indiana but has lived in Plainfield for the past 34 years. She and her husband Rich have 3 grown children, all of whom graduated from Plainfield High School and continued onto Indiana University (IU). A graduate of IU herself with a degree in Criminal Justice, Joy has used that degree in her work as a Probation Officer in Hendricks County for 6 years, and also as the County Attendance Officer for 17 years.

She has served the community by helping to launch and run the Kids Summer Lunch Bunch program, worked with the Plainfield United Methodist Church "Feed the Hungry" ministry and volunteered in the schools over the years. She was appointed to the Police Commission on January 1, 2018 and is looking forward to serving the Town of Plainfield in that capacity.
