Heavy Trash Day
Saturday, April 17, 2021
Plainfield residents may bring acceptable heavy trash items to the designated dumpsters at the Town garage. Items accepted include just about everything except hazardous waste, tires, building materials, or yard waste. This also includes furniture, although residents who bring mattresses will have to handle getting the mattresses out of their vehicle and into the dumpster on their own. For sanitary reasons, DPW staff will not handle such items. Residents should remove gas and oil from mowers and leaf blowers.
Items containing Freon like refrigerators and freezers, computers monitors, and televisions may not be brought.
Ray’s Document Destruction will be back. The shredder will be set up in the parking lot at the Plainfield Community Middle School, just down Longfellow Lane from the Department of Public Works garage, near the football field. Sensitive documents residents would like to have shredded can be dropped off at the Ray's truck.
