Plainfield Nature Park

The Town previously accepted the Nature Preserve Master Plan Executive Support Summary dated December 10, 2018.

The Town has also accepted the Draft Phase 1A: Inventory and Data Gathering Summary Report for the Plainfield Nature Park dated January 27, 2020.

The Town plans to create a Nature Park that will provide a net benefit to area wildlife (including the federally listed Indiana bat) while significantly advancing the recreational opportunities of the Nature Park and the economic development opportunities for the area near the Nature Park. The Town owns approximately 1,928 acres in Guilford Township, south of Interstate 70 and east of a line projecting from the alignment of State Road 267. The majority of these lands were previously purchased by the Indianapolis International Airport to satisfy mitigation requirements imposed during the construction of Six Points Road Interchange and the new airport terminal construction over twenty (20) years ago.

The Nature Park Master Plan is a comprehensive multi-year plan.
