The 2023 Heavy Trash Days are scheduled for April 22, April 29, October 7, and 14.
The 2023 Heavy Trash days will be held on 2 consecutive Saturdays, April 22nd and 29th, and on October 7th and October 14th from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plainfield residents may bring acceptable heavy trash items to the designated dumpsters at the Town Garage located at 986 S. Center Street.
Items accepted include just about everything except:
- Hazardous waste
- Tires
- Building materials
- Yard waste
Residents may bring furniture to Heavy Trash Day; however, those who bring mattresses will have to dump the mattresses into the dumpster on their own. For sanitary reasons, DPW staff will not handle such items. Residents should remove gas and oil from mowers and leaf blowers.
Items containing Freon like refrigerators and freezers; computers, monitors, and televisions will not be accepted, but may be taken to Hendricks County Tox-Away Days. There will be Tox-Away Days held at various Hendricks County Locations beginning April 8th in Brownsburg and ending in Plainfield at the Middle School on October 21st.
Waste Management Destruction will also be available. The shredder will be set up in the parking lot at the Plainfield Community Middle School, near the football field. Sensitive documents residents would like to have shredded can be dropped off at the WM truck. It will be available during the same hours.
Please note: The Town’s Heavy Trash Days are for the Town of Plainfield residents only. Residents should bring identification with them that has their address on it.
