Spring Heavy Trash Days - April 17th and April 24th

The Department of Public Works' Spring Heavy Trash Days will be held on 2 consecutive Saturdays, April 17, and April 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Plainfield residents may bring acceptable heavy trash items to the designated dumpsters at the Town garage located at 986 S. Center Street. Items accepted include just about everything except hazardous waste, tires, building materials, or yard waste. This also includes furniture, although residents who bring mattresses will have to handle getting the mattresses out of their vehicle and into the dumpster on their own. For sanitary reasons, DPW staff will not handle such items. Residents should remove gas and oil from mowers and leaf blowers.

Items containing Freon like refrigerators and freezers, computers monitors, and televisions may not be brought, but may be taken to Hendricks County Tox-Away Days which are held in various locations. The Plainfield date is scheduled October 9th.  Please contact Hendricks County Solid Waste at (317) 858-6070 for more information.

Ray’s Document Destruction will be back. The shredder will be set up in the parking lot at the Plainfield Community Middle School, just down Longfellow Lane from the Department of Public Works garage, near the football field. Sensitive documents residents would like to have shredded can be dropped off at the Ray's truck. It will be available both Saturdays during the same hours.

Please note: The Town’s Heavy Trash Days are for the Town of Plainfield residents only. Residents should bring identification with them that has their address on it.
