Residents may deposit acceptable items in designated dumpsters at the Town garage located at 986 S. Center Street. No hazardous waste, tires, building materials, or yard waste will be accepted. This is a free event provided to Plainfield residents in an effort to help keep our community clean.

Smith Road to Close as Roundabout is Constructed

The intersection of Smith Road (CR 900E) and Township Line Road will close during the first week of April so construction crews can begin to build a new roundabout intersection there. The intersection is expected to be closed through the end of July.

The recommended detour route is taking the Ronald Reagan Parkway to CR 200S on the east and Dan Jones Road to CR 200S on the west. Those who live in the Settlement subdivision will have to use the entrance on CR 200S to access their subdivision.

Because Township Line Road is also blocked on the west end at Dan Jones Road for bridge work, those who live on Township Line Road will have only one way in and out of their homes, and that is to use Shady Lane North from US 40 to Township Line Road. The bridge is expected to be under construction through the end of June. Following completion of the “west” bridge, crews will then move to replace a bridge east of that location. Total construction of Township Line Road is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Crews will begin work at the Smith Road intersection by relocating underground sanitary and storm sewer lines as well as water lines.
