This month we're all about festivals! If you haven't heard about the new performing arts festival, 'Play'nfield in the Park, get it on your calendar now. It will happen on Saturday, July 30, starting at noon. We'll have live bands, a "Plainfield's Got Talent" talent contest (sponsored by State Bank of Lizton), and the day culminates with a performance of the classic American comedy, "Arsenic and Old Lace," put on by Hendricks Civic Theater and sponsored by Thompson Family Eye Care. The events will take place at the Hummel Park amphitheater. We'll also have a Kids Zone, wandering performers, and food trucks, so we'll have a little something for everyone. Plus, it's all FREE, so that money you would have to spend on entertainment like this? Save it for the food trucks!
Most everyone around here knows about Plainfield's Fourth of July celebration, which will take place on Monday, July 4. The Hendricks Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the amphitheater starting about 7:30 and will play through the fireworks display which starts about 10 p.m. We have one of the best fireworks displays around. Let's hope for good weather!
Finally, we have an article about the Town's effort to preserve the roads we recently resurfaced. It involves the application of a natural preservation agent. We are doing it somewhat different than we did last year. Please see the article to understand how the application process will change.
