Plainfield Fire Territory

Welcome Note from the Fire Chief

Welcome to the home page of the Plainfield Fire Territory.   You have landed in the right place to find information about us.

Our first priority is responding to emergencies, always Dial 911 in the event of an emergency.   We provide emergency medical service, patient transport, fire suppression and rescue services.

Dial 911 for urgent needs for assistance that are NOT an emergency

From time to time people need immediate help, but it is not an emergency.   Some examples include: those in poor health or the elderly need help getting up, the CO or smoke detector is making noise, open burning complaint, etc.  In the event you need some immediate assistance from us, dial 911. When the call taker answers the phone, simply tell them it’s not an emergency, but you need help. The dispatcher will send the closest available unit to assist you. There will be NO lights or siren. We are very happy to help people when they need us. In addition, we like to meet or friends and neighbors when they are not in some type of distress.

Need for assistance or information that is NOT urgent

If you need assistance or information, but it can wait; call us at 317-839-6939 or email (see “Fire Territory Admin” link below).  If you leave us a message, we will respond to your request as soon as we are available.
